Summary:
A leading energy company is searching for a Manager, Real Estate Services to join their legal team, focusing on real estate issues and support for the Project Self-Development team. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to handle due diligence requests, as well as obtaining title commitments and surveys for self-developed projects.
This position is remote but you will ideally be based on the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
Title
Initiate title commitment orders and track their progress.
Conduct a preliminary review of new title commitments, identifying potential issues.
Support title clearance efforts as needed.
Manage the closing calendar and coordinate proforma title policies.
Facilitate revisions based on external counsel reviews.
Obtain and deliver title invoices to the Project Finance team.
Monitor the status of recorded documents or title policies.
Survey
Follow up on outstanding survey statuses.
Conduct a preliminary review of new surveys, checking for errors and ensuring SRE survey requirements are met.
Review the location of recorded easements and utility lines.
Coordinate survey reviews with lenders and equity partners.
Required Skills/Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
5-10 years’ experience in real estate law or title experience.
In-depth understanding of real estate law, particularly title insurance.
