Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Distribution Power Line Designer to join our client. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing efficient and reliable distribution power lines that facilitate the safe and uninterrupted flow of electricity to our customers. Your expertise will contribute to the expansion and enhancement of our electrical distribution network while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and specifications.

• Design distribution power line systems that optimize efficiency, reliability, and safety, considering factors such as load capacity, voltage levels, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness.

• Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software, ensuring accurate documentation of all design elements.

• Select appropriate materials, components, and equipment for power line construction, factoring in durability, performance, and compliance with industry standards.

• Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to validate the feasibility and performance of proposed power line designs.

• Ensure that power line designs comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards, both at the national and local levels.

• Collaborate with utility companies, local authorities, and environmental agencies to secure necessary permits and approvals for power line construction projects.

• Monitor industry trends and advancements in power distribution technology to incorporate innovative solutions and improve design practices.

• Participate in project meetings, providing technical expertise and updates on design progress.

• Assist in the preparation of project proposals, technical reports, and documentation as needed.

• Support field teams during construction and installation phases by addressing design-related queries and offering guidance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

• Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in distribution power line design or related roles.

• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering simulation tools.

• Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, power distribution systems, and industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE).

• Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations related to power line construction.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on technical data and calculations.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality design documentation.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
