RO Energy is working with a self perform EPC company who build utility scale Solar PV and BESS projects. This is an established company with almost 20 years in the market executing hundreds of solar projects. They are looking for a fully traveling Assistant Project Manager.

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for overall documentation and administrative functions on project(s). The APM will assist the Project Manager with the flow of information between the field and office to ensure that each project is constructed in accordance with the contract documents.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities for Assistant Project Manager

Our client seeks an innovative and motivated individual that will have responsibilities during the construction process. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist Project Manager in all phases and aspects of the project and has responsibility in overall project management and oversight of large-scale utility solar.

  • Assist in tracking budget delivery, scheduling, change orders, and purchase agreements.

  • Interacts regularly with Owner and submit regular reporting as required.

  • Monitors construction activities, productivity, and create daily/weekly/monthly look aheads.

  • Administer QA/QC program as work phase requires.

  • Assist Project Manager and O&M team to effectively close out.

  • Assists Project Manager and company schedulers to manage and update project schedules.

  • Assists Project Manager to contract and manage Subcontractors and vendors for the site.

  • Coordinate with engineering and field team to troubleshoot field works.

  • Conducts trade pre-construction meetings, coordinates subcontractors and vendors, coordinates permit inspections, and maintain any subcontractor

  • Assists project engineers with RFI's

  • Works closely with engineering team to come up with solutions for any challenges that may be encountered in the

  • Manages Subcontractors onsite to ensure that project is on schedule and within budget.

  • Developing trade scopes of work and assisting the Project Manager with buyout of trades

Qualifications for Assistant Project Manager

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.

  • Entry level to three (3) years of experience in construction management, electrical installation and/or solar self perform.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction practices and skills. Ability to read plans required.

  • PMP and or NABCEP candidates preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, and SharePoint are preferred.

  • This role is a traveling site based role
